Players will explore Mars and in the process discover the possibilities of AI. They will prepare the Mars Base for human inhabitants and become an AI specialist!

SAINT teaches AI related skills to players, using Minecraft Worlds. With SAINT, we have created a fun, interactive and creative learning environment through specific activities and challenges aligned with the AI4K12 guidelines and the 5 big ideas of AI:

  1. Perception,

  2. Representation & Reasoning,

  3. Learning,

  4. Natural interactions,

  5. Societal impact.

On each of the SAINT worlds, the player gets acquainted to all 5 big ideas of AI while a note at the end of each world gives summary of how each idea was introduced.

Module 1: Robots. The player starts by meeting the Mission Commander and learns that they are in the Space Center which is controlled entirely by AI. Unfortunately the AI is not working properly. The player learns the difference between robots with AI and the ones without. Once the player gets to the Launch Pad, finds out that the robots preparing a rocket for launch are not working properly. While trying to help the AI robots, the Player finds out that they can learn from their mistakes and act accordingly. The Player finally gets to go to space! Module 2: Work & Entrepreneurship. The Player learns that they have successfully landed on Mars! After getting to the Mars Base, the Player finds out that just like the Space Center, the Base is also fully controlled by AI. For now, only robots and animals inhabit the Base but in the future, humans will as well. The Player is asked to fix the production line responsible for creating medicine for sick cows. To fix the production line, the Player will have to build a special Chip. If at any moment the Player needs assistance during task execution, they can find the closest Computer and they will get a hint. The Player gets to know not only how to aid an AI controlled production line, but also the impact it has on humans. Module 3: Speech & Vision. The Player finds out the importance of a part of the Mars Base – the Earth-Dome. Apparently, all of the trees in the dome suddenly fell sick. The Players task is to manually check if the trees are indeed sick or if the readings are only a bug in the AI. Because all of the trees seem to be in perfect health, the system suspects a problem with the neural network. The Player fixes the neural network which is indeed faulty and they help AI learn about other parts of the Earth-Dome like the animals and other plants. Module 4: Games & Puzzles. The Player will help at the Robot Training Spot, where they get to meet the Valet, a robot that will be trained. The Player will aid in training the Valet by giving him specific components based on the path the Valet needs to take during the training. The Player will have a close look at the learning process of AI. They will see how the robot overcomes problems in their paths and even how they learn to speak like a human! Module 5: AI in everyday life. The Player finds out that the animals inhabiting the Mars Base are allowed to roam around under the right circumstances. To manage the circumstances the Player gets to go to the Robot Creation Hall and program the Dogotron. Once the correct components are created using the Programming Machine, the Player gets to see Dogotron take care of the cows and help him align his speed and accuracy in his work.

Project SAINT helps players discover the possibilities of AI in Minecraft. We have created custom AI-themed maps for an unparalleled educational experience. Our game bridges the gap between AI’s expanding role and public awareness, using our game to make complex concepts accessible and engaging. Perfect for any interested player as well as classrooms or AI-centred workshops, SAINT maps provide practical insights into AI technologies. The Players get to explore the transformative power of artificial intelligence in an exciting and interactive way.

Each map takes approximately 15 – 20 minutes to finish.
